The natural fermentation introduces an amazing fruity flavor reminiscent of strawberries and tropical fruits. A chocolaty aroma and sweet raisin finish become prominent as this coffee cools.
The Spanish word Terruño, means "my land" or "homestead." It is used to identify coffees that come from the homesteads of the small-holder cooperative coffee farmers in Nayarit, Mexico. This coffee is grown around an extinct volcano, Cerro San Juan, located immediately to the west of Tepic, the capital of Nayarit, which imparts its special characteristics of soil type and microclimate to our bright, floral and citrusy coffee.
All of the coffee that is exported with the Terruño Nayarita mark is qualified by the Mexican QA company, Cafes Sustentables de Mexico. The cup quality is very consistent as the coffee is chosen on the basis of the cup characteristics of each patio lot.
